There are times when I wonder if God answers my prayers. Even worse are those times when I feel like He didn’t hear them, like they never got to Him; they just hit the ceiling and bounced back. But that’s a lie of the enemy to get us discouraged from praying and I’d show you how I know that here.
1 Peter 3:12:
“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
“Well,” you may say, “that’s the righteous. I don’t feel like I’m righteous”. But you are! Every born-again child of God is righteous. Here’s how I know. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says:
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
So that settles the part that He hears. Okay, what of the answer? 1 John 5:14-15:
“14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.“
These are the verses of Scripture that I quote every time doubt rises up in my heart about hearing/answering. There are many more. Please feel free to share.
Food for thought:
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Life nugget:
“It is written…” This is a very strong counter against any attack of the enemy.
