This is going to be my 2nd major philosophical post and it will touch a bit on Spirituality too. I asked a question in one of my posts about what our reaction would be if we didn’t have Google like it is today. My reasoning is that if we didn’t have Google like this, we would never have known that Google could be like this? Follow?
But let’s take it a step further. You were supposed to get on a bus but for some reason, you got on another one. You later discovered that the one you ditched broke down and then you say: “Thank God I didn’t get on that one”.
But sometimes I think of the reverse: What if the bus doesn’t breakdown because you were there? Like, for some reason because of you, there was a delay and the driver remembered to fuel the bus (which caused the breakdown for example) or just some random act, the bus just doesn’t break down?
We could apply this to other areas too. I understand and respect the mercies of God and the prompting of the Holy Spirit; this is only a thought.
Food for thought:
What if things must inevitably happen and the only reason we were/are spared was/is by the mercies of God?
Proverbs 22:3 “A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.”
