Someone asked an open question recently: What is the difference between Walking with God and Working for God? I think in the simplest form of it, our walk with God is our fellowship with Him while our work for Him is our service to Him.
But something else struck me in this question. James 2:17-18 says:
“17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”
Even though it seems like a long shot in my mind, I came to this analogy: Our walk with God can be likened to FAITH while our work for God can be likened to WORKS. Think about that for a moment.
Putting that into context, it means that our walk with God and our work for Him should not be separated.
Food for thought:
What really is the work of God? John 6:29
The more we fellowship with God, the more we become like Him (2 Corinthians 3:18)
