He sees the world through the eyes of his guide dog

We seem to take a lot of things in life for granted. The fact that we wake up every morning is not normal. It is very abnormal. Tomorrow is never guaranteed but thanks be to God Almighty for His mercies and compassion.

Air is free but some people are still gasping for it and spending money just to be able to breath normally. Ask the asthmatic patients

The sun rises too early and you use your pillow to block the rays of light from your eyes. Ask the blind one who lives in perpetual darkness, seeing through the eyes of his/her guide dog, never able to behold the beauty of the rising sun.

You are unhappy that your voice is not the best in the choir. Ask those who were not given voices from birth, whose hands have become their sole object of communication.

The world is too noisy- birds are chirping, cars are hooting, loud planes flying overhead. Ask the one who watches a football match without commentary, who can’t hear danger coming at him.

Why are apartments in this city just so tiny? To crown it all, the weather is so cold. Small bed, cold room, such living condition! Ask the guy at the entrance to the station who sits shaking in the cold and looks up to you for ‘spare change’.

This is not to say we should not aim for better things in life. It only tells us to be aware of and thankful for the blessings in our lives while we strive for greater things.

Food for thought:

The grass always seems greener on the other side. If people should tell you what they are going through, you would thank God for where you are.

Life nugget:

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
