~The fall~

Even he was amazed at how lucky he was with this one. It didn’t take long for him to convince her that sex between two consenting adults that love themselves irrespective of marital status was not against the laws in the Holy Book. His explanation was based off 1 Corinthians 6. “Paul said you should not take your body and be with a harlot. Are you a harlot?

As time went on, He had even succeeded in cutting her off from the fold. She had a fallout with her choir leader in Church and he had advised her to leave the Church completely. At that point, he had complete control over her because even for a heathen, he knew there was something about that Word they preach in Churches that is able to pierce through hearts. That wasn’t good for ‘business’. Continue reading

~Bait activated~

Three weeks later, he had been attending all the services faithfully, even the midweek services. It was necessary for her to see his faithfulness. He had waited enough and it was time to make his move.

He put on his jacket as he walked towards the door, purposely counting his steps to allow for perfect timing.

You first” Ola said.

Thank you.” She replied as she walked through the open door.

I don’t mean to pry but when one of the beautiful things about coming to Church is missing, one can get very gloomy indeed

How do you mean?” she replied.

Ola continued, “Well, I noticed you weren’t your smiley self today. As someone who’s new in the faith, seeing you always happy gave me hope that I will find the same kind of joy in Jesus but today was different.Continue reading

I met him in Church

Another relationship series. As before, let’s discuss at the end. Enjoy.

He made his way to the restroom. He had to be quick, it was almost time. 3 stalls, the middle one was empty. Of course. No man would ‘willing’ stand next to another guy doing his business; it had something to do with privacy. But there was no time for privacy. He took his position at the available urinal. He felt like Jesus on the cross, one thief on his left and another on his right. *smug* But he was nothing like Jesus and even he knew that; however, the people of Jesus were good to him. In fact they were so good-

*vibrate*

He removed the thought-disturbing device from his pocket. It was her again. “You no go go Church ni?” he murmured as he dropped the phone near the wash-hand basin and proceeded to wash his hands. He couldn’t help but grin as he cast his mind back to how it all happened: Continue reading

Obedient always, sometimes or hardly ever?

I find that it’s easy to say I’d always be obedient to God when everything seems fine, when I’m not currently going through something that will test that obedience. Saying it is easy; doing and being it is where the real work lies.

  • I confess that I believe His Word is true and that I’d remain obedient to Him but when I pray and I’m still worried, am I being obedient? Phil 4:6-7
  • I say I’m obedient to paying my offering and tithe but when there are bills to pay and debts to settle, do I pay my tithe completely? Malachi 3: 8-10 Continue reading

Sunday playlist

Worship: Come to Jesus, Chris Rice

Praise: He good, Psalmos ft. Hess

Forgiveness: Mistakes, Marvin Winans

Ask and Receive: Don’t wanna let You go, Deitrick Haddon

Food for thought:

I really like the “Sibi ile mi o gba holiday” lyric in that Psalmos’ song. It just means “I always have something to eat”

Life nugget:

Hebrew 13:15 “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”

Lamide & John: Friendship to Marriage

A snippet from John’s post, Boy meets Girl:

With a wide gaze he looks into the future, to put the ring in the finger because he loves her so much and can’t wait to seal the friendship as a union of love that should be forever….

And that’s what they did today: They sealed their 8 year old friendship as a union of love to last forever. I’m not sure if they are the first EIE couple but they are the first 2009 EIE set couple. LOL.

I don't have better pictures yet x_x

Happy Married Life Lamide and John

Food for thought:

I thought they say the man is usually not smiling on the wedding day while the woman is beaming with smiles. My man here is grinning. Lol. I guess he’d tell us why when the formality is over.

Life nugget:

Proverbs 18:22 “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.”

One Thing remains…

Anyone in the Cisco security world will tell you that when the ASA (Cisco’s firewall) is running in multi-context mode, some features are not available; the two major unavailable features are VPN and Dynamic routing. Well, that information is now obsolete. Things have changed because starting from version 9.0, these features are now supported in multi-context mode.

It got me thinking of the dynamic nature of this life. Everything changes. Sometimes it’s for the better: Like a barren woman of so many years suddenly becoming pregnant. Or sadly, for worse: Like a blessed man of God, deserting the faith, and finally being held down at the psychiatric institution.

But there’s one Thing that remains sure: God. Everything about Him does not change: His Word, His love, His righteousness, His faithfulness, His mercy! Hallelujah.

This song says it all:

Food for thought:

You need stability? Then you need Jesus. Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Life nugget:

God is the unchangeable Changer
