Discussion: I met Him in church series

The I met Him in church series is now concluded (you can read here: part 1, part 2 and part 3). I have had feedback from you guys and I just thought I’d make a compilation of it here.

  • Not every one who is in church is in church. The fact that someone attends all the Church meetings does not mean he/she is truly in Christ. It makes sense that the Bible tells us to try every spirit (1 John 4:1). In the end, actions speak louder than words because it is not only by hearing the Word but by doing it (James 1:22-25).
  • Plain ignorance: One of the comments I received was If you know that it is wrong and you still do it, that’s different from being convinced that something is right“. In the end, we need to know things for ourselves according to what the Bible says on that subject.
  • Pride: There’s something about humility and being in subjection to authority. Being haughty and fighting with your leaders (Jennifer and her choir leader) is a signal that something is wrong. The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:6-11 to have the mind of Christ which in effect is Humility.
  • I’m not really sure how Ola pulled off Jennifer not meeting his friends or ever being to his house but he did (Lol, it’s my story and I say he did). I know it’s not foolproof but getting to know enough details about someone you want to get involved with reduces the chance that the person won’t be who you expected.

Mehn, this story has enough things to be cited, so I’d just leave your mind to wander and perhaps your hands to type a comment.

Food for thought:

Romans 13:1 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

Life nugget:

2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Nice posts…hmmm…where was the voice of the Holy Spirit? Was she listening? Did she commune with God daily? Did she pay her tithe and offering with full understanding as she ought to (I will rebuke the devourer for your sake Malachi 3:10 )? Did she get someone to serve as a mentor or spiritual head over their relationship when she saw it was getting deep? It is not bad to fall in love…but it is good to check the persons with God… if He is fine with them… most of my relationships have been short term..because God said NO! … 🙂 .. Bottom line: Your relationship with God supercedes every other one.. stay in tune with him daily.. 🙂

Also..asides listening to the voice of the God, one needs to check the depth and level of Spiritual understanding of one’s friends. There is a level of friendship I have with people and most of them are ranked based on the depth/ knowledge of God I can see in them…..minding one’s company is key. Whosoever one follows determines what follows the person (BDO). Also remaining in Zion (God’s house) is key..there is something about the presence of God …..the spirit of just men made perfect and the company of innumerable angels… I know the lady in this series got it wrong from the foundation (her relationship with God).

Most of the times I have faced certain challenges or disappointments have been timeswhen I was not in tune with God, missed personal bible study, disobeyed God or procrastinated my prayer times…it is all about the foundation of your life that must be kept strong at every point in time.
