Day 0 – Landed in Lagos, smiling at the sight of the yellow and black-stripped buses. Immigration went pretty quickly. Strange. *smiles* It will be a good break.
Day 1 – Happy birthday to me. Friends and loved ones all around. Oh what joy.
Day 2 – License renewal. Why would it be so stressful to get a licence? Rude bank staff. Joy in my heart, no one can take it away.
Day 3 – Meetings. God’s favor. Dinner with the miss. Sparingly using my car horn. Lagos traffic can’t get to me…until A/C stops working. Oh the horror! Midweek service. Traffic still at 8.30???
Day 4 – A/C automagically starts working…for 10 mins. Meetings wearing a suit in an A/C-less car 😦 *hot tears* Good to see friends.
…
Where I am today? Using my horn almost as much as I use my brakes (an exaggeration but you get the point); shouting at the driver in front of me “oga, what are you doing??!”, even though he can’t hear me; still rocking Lagos traffic like no man’s business.
Food for thought:
In the end, this is home and home is where the heart is.
Life nugget:
Matthew 6:21 KJV: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
No place like home
