If we are to break down Jesus’ ministry into phases, we will probably all agree on these three: Death (Crucifixion), Resurrection and Ascension. Also, as many of us may be know, as believers we also have these three phases:

  • Death: Romans 6:3 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
  • Resurrection: Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
  • Ascension: Ephesians 2:6 “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”

So if we have “passed from death to life”, why do we still experience some things? Why do we still struggle with some old habits? Continue reading

The traffic warden analogy

I recently heard a good analogy that helps clear things up on the difference between Power and Authority, so let me share:

When you are driving home during rush hour and let’s assume the traffic light is broken or there isn’t one at that junction; so there’s a police officer controlling traffic.

Now, when that officer raises his hand for you to stop, why do you stop? If you refuse to stop, does he have the power to hold unto your car and stop it from moving? Continue reading
