Another one is out!!!

I’m not sure how many of you are Hillsong fans like I and a couple of friends are, but here’s the news:

The new Hillsong United album is out!!!

The title of the album is Zion. You can do a YouTube search for it or just click on this link for the search. Look out for ‘Oceans (Where feet may fail)‘, ‘Scandal of Grace‘ and ‘Stay and Wait‘. At least those are my favorite.

Food for thought:

It’s funny that I didn’t like Hillsong the first time I listened to one of their album. Change is really the only constant thing.

So many times, we are so hard on ourselves that we put unnecessary pressure on our hearts, minds and on God. If only we could learn to prioritize and put what is necessary first, then we can get rid of (or at least push forward), the weight and baggage we are carrying about.

So I set goals for the month Continue reading

In Him, In Whom, In Jesus (V)

Up until now, I’ve been strict with the phrases: “In Him”, “In Whom” and “In Jesus”, but I should expand to “By Whom”, “Through Whom” and really everything that seems like what Jesus has done for us. But I’m well in on the New Testament Books so I’d just finish.

Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace”

Ephesians 1:11 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”

Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise

Ephesians 2:6 “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”

Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ

Ephesians 2:21-22 “21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit

Food for thought:

…and I’m not even done with the confessions in the Book of Ephesians. I think this is the Book that tells us most of what we have in Christ and who we are in Him. Fingers crossed.

Life nugget:

Confessions:

  • I have redemption through the Blood of Jesus, the forgiveness of sins
  • I have obtained an inheritance in Jesus Christ
  • I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise because I believe in Jesus Christ
  • I am seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
  • I am God’s handiwork created in Jesus Christ
  • I am no more an alien to God because of the Blood of Jesus
  • Because I am in Christ, God dwells inside me through the Holy Spirit

I saw this wonderful (and hilarious) post on Morning Story and Dilbert and I thought I should share it. Enjoy…

Morning Story and Dilbert

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, “Let my brother have the first pancake. I can wait.” Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, “Ryan, you be Jesus.”

A father was at the beach with his children when his four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore, where a seagull lay dead in the sand. “Daddy, what happened to him?” the son asked. “He died and went to Heaven,” the dad replied.  The boy thought a moment and then said, “Did God throw him back down?”

A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said, Would you like…

In Him, In Whom, In Jesus (IV)

So far, I think the Book of Ephesians has the most promises. The books to the Corinthians (and Galatians) contain a lot of scolding.

Galatians 2:4 “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:”

Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” Although this one does not specifically have any of the phrases, it tells us what Jesus has done for us.

Galatians 3:26 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus

Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

Ephesians 1:4 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love

Food for thought:

Pastors and ministers of the Gospel are sometimes referred to as ‘Servants of God’ but since they are saved, they are also ‘Children of God’ with us. Perhaps, it’s a context thing?

Life nugget:

Confessions:

  • I have freedom in Christ Jesus
  • I have been redeemed from the curse of the Law1 by Jesus Christ
  • I am a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ
  • There is no discrimination in Jesus Christ
  • I am blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
  • I was chosen by God in Jesus from the foundation of the world that I should be holy and without blame before Him in love

Why are you so careless?

I went to the kitchen in my office to wash the dirty mugs I had earlier used to drink tea. As I washed, one of them fell from my hands and hit the sink hard. With that, the handle broke off. Feeling a sting of disappointment for a minute, I knew it was my responsibility to take care of. So, I threw it away. That was being responsible enough. C’mon, it was just a mug.

But oh no, it wasn’t just a mug when we were much younger. Continue reading

Is less better? A conversation on

This is a conversation I had with a friend of mine, speaking about the post on “Is less better?“. It’s pretty insightful.

Friend: So I thought about your blogpost. Faith normally isn’t (shouldn’t be) tied to (lack of) positioning (like the preparation u have) for what you are having faith for. Back to the basics. Faith comes by hearing, hearing from God’s word. So you can have more faith, when you know God’s word concerning the situation. Not just knowing, more like hearing it in you. Like the way Bishop David Oyedepo (for example) has reckless faith about health and prosperity. Its revelation, not preparation, or the lack of it that increases faith. If you have more or less faith because or the physical situation, then its not faith.

Me: :p I got around to reading your reply yesterday. I was confused so I said I’d read it again. Lemme try now

***a few mins later***
Me: Ah, I see

Friend: *laughs*

Me: So it’s either you believe or you don’t; That’s in d context of a particular situation

Friend: Well, my point is, having or not, does not contribute to faith…If your faith is based on what u have or don’t, then its not faith

Me: Okay

Friend: Its easier to have real faith when u find God’s word concerning you. And hold to it. For instance, Gal 6:9- The basis for me doing a lot of things in advance as long as it is good because the day of reckoning would soon come. So yea, when I keep doing my exams and taking certs and reading books and wondering if I’m killing myself, I remember his word, and believe that my due season is close and then refuse to faint.

The problem is, specifics. Say you’re trusting for a job. Well, you can hang on a generic scripture or you can have the Holy Spirit interpret a generic scripture to mean a specific to you

Food for thought:

Have you found out what the Word of God says for that particular situation you are in right now?

I don’t know about you, but when I pray, I have an expectation of how I think God will answer. It’s either one of my long-never-spoken-to aunt calls me and tells me to send my account number or I just happen upon the boss of that company I applied to on the train and he offers me the job on the spot. Yes? No. Continue reading
