It began with a thought

I was studying the Book of John and I came across something insightful. John 13:2

“And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;”

Let’s read it in the AMP version [Emphasis added]:

“So [it was] during supper, Satan having already put the thought of betraying Jesus in the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son,”

You know, the betrayal of Jesus by Judas began with a thought. It wasn’t until verse 27 that Satan took over him after the thought had settled and had its way.

“Then after [he had taken] the bit of food, Satan entered into and took possession of [Judas]. Jesus said to him, What you are going to do, do more swiftly than you seem to intend and make quick work of it.”

This is just one example; in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall a thing be established so let’s take another example.
